Blustery day with PM Rain

CREATED Nov 11, 2012

It will be a warm and mostly dry start to this Sunday but the winds are already cranking up from the south at 20-30 mph, some gusts could top 45 mph today which is why a Wind Advisory has been issued.  There may be a few spotty and showers or an isolated thunderstorm before 3pm but the best chance for widespread rain showers comes in the late afternoon hours and into the evening.  Some thunderstorms are possible as a strong cold front drapes across Wisconsin, there is much colder air on the back side of the front, so a few snow flakes could mix in with the rain after midnight tonight but no accumulation is expected.  Most locations will see a quarter to a half an inch of rain in the bucket by the time Monday morning rolls around.

A sharp contrast in temperatures can be expected for Monday after a weekend in the 60s, highs will struggle to get out of the mid-30s to start out the work week.  Skies will be partly cloudy with a slight chance for a few flurries in the afternoon and it will still be very windy.  Temperatures plunge into the low to mid-20s overnight as skies clear.

Winds will start to calm on Tuesday but temperatures will still be cold, we'll be lucky to hit 40 degrees under mostly sunny skies.  Then it is a slow climb back to the 50s by next weekend.

***WIND ADVISORY for Dodge, Fond du Lac, and Jefferson county from 10am-6pm***
***WIND ADVISORY for Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Sheboygan, Walworth, Washington and Waukesha from 10am-8pm***
