Summer's Spectacular Exit

CREATED Aug. 31, 2012

The upper atmospheric ridge which led to so much sunshine yesterday and sent our temperatures soaring into the 90s remains in control of our weather.  Even with a surface front sliding by the area today we'll remain dry with just a few more clouds filtering the sun later in the day.  Winds will calm down and shift off Lake Michigan later today leading to cooler readings in the East, but not before highs reach near 90 degrees again.  The remnants of what was once Hurricane Isaac will lift closer to us through the holiday weekend, however any significant precipitation should remain to our South.  The largest impact from the "late" Isaac will be additional clouds on Sunday and perhaps a shower or storm mainly close to the Illinois border.
Have a great Friday and a terrific holiday weekend!
