Friday's rain and thunder brought some much needed rain but unfortunately it was not a widespread rain covering all of southeast Wisconsin. Rain totals ranged from a tenth of an inch to 2.50" in South Milwaukee but that doesn't make too much of a dent in the ongoing drought. We are still 3.75" below average on rain since June in Milwaukee, some locations are even worse.
Today there are more chances for rain showers, especially in the early morning through early afternoon. Though again, not everyone will see substantial rainfall totals, most locations will see a quarter of an inch with higher amounts in thunderstorms. It will be a muggy day with very warm temperatures in the upper 80s. Tonight the rain chances diminish by midnight then skies will start to clear but it will still be warm and muggy.
Sunday will be the drier day of the weekend but it will be hot and sticky with highs in the low-90s at the lakefront and mid-90s inland. Coupled with the humidity, temperatures will feel more like 94-99 degrees.
The heat continues to crank up for Monday and Tuesday with hot and humid conditions both days under a baking sun. Highs will be in the upper 90s but the heat index could climb into the low 100s due to the humidity.
A cold front swings through Tuesday evening, ringing out the heat and humidity in the form of showers and thunderstorms, which will drop us back into the 80s with lower humidity.
