Sizzle and Steam!

The big "blocking" ridge in the upper levels of the atmosphere which has kept things quiet and very hot for us will begin to "flatten" a bit today. That combined with a very weak cool front could lead to some additional clouds and even an isolated thunderstorm this afternoon and evening, though most of us will continue with the very dry conditions. Even with that frontal passage, temperatures will remain well above average and hot through the weekend, with 90s in the area likely through the period. Light winds will allow a bit of a lake breeze to develop cooling things off very close to Lake Michigan.
Have a great Thursday and stay cool!
