A warmer but wet weekend ahead

The southeast Wisconsin forecast calls for more cloud cover this evening with a few light rain showers/sprinkles.

Saturday will start off mainly dry with partly cloudy skies and it will be another breezy day though temperatures rise to 70°.  As a warm front moves in Saturday afternoon, showers and thunderstorms will develop, becoming more widespread by Saturday night when there is a chance for heavy rain.  Most locations will see 0.50"-0.75" by Sunday morning.  The warm front stays to our north on Sunday and with another day in the 70s and moisture moving in from the south it will be another day to keep the umbrella handy.  Showers and thunderstorms are possible, especially in the afternoon and evening with a slight chance for severe weather.  The main threat will be for large hail and heavy downpours, so we will continue to monitor this situation closely over the weekend.

A few showers remain on Monday as temperatures return to normal, back in the 50s.  We'll see more sunshine by Tuesday with seasonable temps through the rest of the week.
