The forecast for Milwaukee, Waukesha and SE Wisconsin is for increasing clouds, late afternoon sprinkles and highs in the mid 40s. Lows tonight drop into the upper 20s with light snow developing after midnight with less than a half inch of accumulation.
Thursday looks a little more tricky with the 3rd storm system of the week. We have forecasted a rain snow mix all week with highs near 40, but the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Thursday for the potential of 3-6" of snow. There is enough moisture with this storm to produce that kind of snow...if the temperatures are cold enough, but that is where the confidence is weak with this forecast....the midday temperatures for Thursday. I still expect highs to be at least in the upper 30s which means a rain/snow mix and reduced snow totals. There will be a light ENE off the lake which is near 40 degrees and will help keep temperatures up. It will change to snow Thursday evening and I believe Milwaukee could see about 1-3" of total accumulation from this storm system...maybe 2-4" inland with slightly cooler temperatures during the afternoon.
Colder air moves in Friday with highs in the 30s, windy conditions and scattered light snow.
Saturday is sunny and breezy with highs near 30 and wind chills in the teens.
