Winter Returns

The forecast for Milwaukee, Waukesha and SE Wisconsin is for the return of winter.  Moderate to heavy snow bands with thunder have been moving through Milwaukee and the surrounding area this morning and will taper off by 1pm.  A quick 1-2" is expected with isolated 3" amounts.  Scattered snow showers and flurries will linger through the afternoon and gradually taper off to flurries this evening.

The cold front has moved through and the northerly winds are increasing to 20-40 mph which will create some blowing snow.  Temperatures will drop into the teens and near 20 by 5pm with wind chills below zero.

Overnight lows will drop to 10 at the lake and 5 inland with a gusty wind and wind chills of -10.

The sunshine returns for the weekend but it will be blustery.  Saturday's highs will be in the teens with wind chills below zero all day with wind gusts up to 30 mph.

Sunday will be sunny, breezy and warmer with highs near 30.  Light snow moves in for Monday with highs near 32.
