The forecast for Milwaukee, Waukesha and SE Wisconsin is for a nice January day after a very cold start. Highs will bet into the low to mid 20s with a light breeze and a few clouds, especially near the lake. A few flurries may fall from the clouds this afternoon, but no accumulating snow is expected.
A warm front moves into the area overnight and it will be much warmer tonight with lows near 20 and increasing clouds. A huge storm system moves in on Sunday with rain, sleet and freezing rain throughout the day with highs in the 30s. Roads could get very slick in the afternoon.
The rain and freezing rain continues Sunday night as the storm gets closer, and rain could be heavy at times with lows in the lower 30s. Monday will have a rain snow mix with highs in the mid 30s in the morning and dropping throughout the afternoon with gusty winds. As of now, snow accumulation looks to be around an inch, but if this storm tracks further south, Milwaukee would see more snow. We will be watching this system carefully and do expect slippery roads on Sunday.
The rest of the week looks quiet and mild with highs above freezing.
