HAPPY 4TH OF JULY
COUPLE PICS FROM CEDARBURG
I was honored to ride in Cedarburg's 4th of July parade this year.
As I've said before, I'm not much a fan of riding in parades. I always feel a little silly. If I went to a parade, I wouldn't be real excited about seeing the likes of me in it, you know.
Still, it always made sense for me to ride in the Wauwatosa parade, since it's where I grew up and where my family teaches. This year, however, Wauwatosa held the 4th of the July parade on the 5th... so I was out. Had to work. I often get around that because we don't usually have a noon show on the 4th due to Wimbledon.
I'd have been perfectly happy to literally sit on the curb this year, but my oldest, Ella, wasn't having it. This is a kid who's been riding in parades with me since she can remember going to parades. She doesn't know that the vast majority of people who attend parades don't do so riding in a convertible.
My wife grew up in Cedarburg, so it was great to have them welcome us for their event. Always fun to ride with someone else too, and since Susan was in Pewaukee for that celebration... it was Weather Meister Brian Gotter and his daughter Allie. There was a lot of candy consumed, joyful friendship and playing. The girls had fun too.
The twins were on the curb again this year. Next year I'll have to think about bringing them too. More pics on my facebook page if you like www.facebook.com/vincevitrano.fan
