NOW THAT'S A MAJOR AWARD
"It's a major award!"
Remember that line from a Christmas Story when the old man got the leg lamp for winning a crossword contest or something?
We had a major award in studio on Live at Noon, Monday. It is, literally, a "Major" award. It's the trophy for pro golf's final Major of the season, the PGA Championship. This year, this very trophy will be handed to the winner of the 92nd Annual, to be played at Whistling Straits near Kohler.
Scott Silvestri, from Kohler, was on the show talking all things Championship. Click on the video icon to watch. We discuss a new museum showing off things like the Wanamaker trophy and other items from PGA Championship's past. We talked about the incredible admission deal for juniors, and about all the work that goes into putting the tournament on.
As many of you know, I like golf, so this was pretty special for me. I'm hopeful even people who aren't big golf fans can appreciate that hosting a Major in our state is a big deal. Maybe at least you can appreciate the millions of people across the world will be watching Wisconsin this summer. I hope we, again, put our best foot forward.
More pictures of the trophy in studio, including it's unique carrying case, are posted on my facebook page: www.facebook.com/vincevitrano.fan
