Vince Vitrano: Not For Broadcast

PLUNGING FOR S.O.

THEM, NOT ME

  • Print

I found it kind of funny that people were asking me if I'd be warm enough.

Really? This was the Polar Plunge, and I wasn't jumping in. No matter what, I was going to be warmer than the 250 people who jumped through a hole cut into the ice in Muskego.

The event, Sunday, raised about $70,000 for Special Olympics.

It's a cause I promote for various reasons, among them is a family connection. My wife's Uncle Roger was born with Down Syndrome. He's 52 (or is it 53?) years old this year, and still taking part in Special Olympics. It's been a blessing in his life, and particularly in his younger days, something the entire family enjoyed.

This was my first year as MC for the Plunge, and it was awesome. These people are nuts. Check out some great picks on the link below. Nuts!

There are a bunch more plunges throughout the winter, and when it's all done dedicated people will have raised more than $1 Million for S.O. in Wisconsin. http://www.specialolympicswisconsin.org/

Thanks to all who jumped, and will jump, and to those who paid them to do it!
