THINGS I LEARNED AT PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCE
1ST ONE FOR ELLA
The rest I pretty much expected, but I learned two things at Ella's first parent-teacher conference.
I'm getting the understanding nod from every parent to whom I relay this story. I guess what my wife and I heard at school yesterday is not uncommon.
1. My kid is not going to talk openly about her boyfriends in the future. Our teacher said something to the effect of, "Surely Ella must talk about Richie a lot."
Richie? No... don't know any Richie.
We've heard a great many names uttered at home about Ella's new 4-K friends. Never heard Richie. Apparently Richie and Ella are inseparable... which is cool. I'm just wondering why I never heard about it.
2. The little girl who answers to the name Ella Vitrano at school, sounds exactly like the daughter I'm trying to raise. It just doesn't sound like the one who comes home every afternoon!
Teacher again, "She's kind, warm-hearted, helps the other students, great listener..."
Sounds like a wonderful little girl... now... can we please talk about my daughter, Ella?
I'll try to remember all the compliments Ella received the next time she's got her little brother in a head-lock, while she's taking his toys.
