MY COUSIN BROKE HIS ARM
BUT MADE THE TACKLE
The Badgers victory over Michigan was bitter sweet in our family.
So good to be there to see that, and to see my cousin Will play his last game at Camp Randall. He's #19 William Hartmann in your program, but he still lets me call him Will.
You'll note in the picture, my man is sporting a fairly sizable sling. Yep. Broken. Dang!
Went down to see him after the game and the first thing he said was, "Yeah... it's broken."
I encouraged him to get a second opinion. He said, "My dad says it's broken." Okay... well, my uncle Bill would know. He's the directory of physical therapy at Sheboygan Orthopedics.
"How about a third opinion," I asked.
"My brother says its broken too," Will stated. My cousin Brad is a radiologist at Froedtert.
Okay... guess it's broken. Dang!
Second last kick-off of the game, Will skirted the wedge, and tripped up the return man with a great tackle. I guess if you've got to go out, go out making the stop. It's just a shame he's got to go out. We're hopeful he'll be able to play in a bowl game, provided the Badgers take care of business and end up playing on New Year's Day.
We're also hopeful that Coach Bielema will still take Will to Hawaii, since my Aunt and Uncle already have plane tickets. I mean, I guess we could all understand if he didn't. It's one thing to put an injured kid on the bus to Evanston... another entirely to fly him over the ocean. So we get it... but c'mon Coach!
So here's hoping Bucky takes care of business in Evanston and Hawaii, and I get to see my cousin run around one last time on January 1.
