It's the mother of all fish fries.

Good Friday at American Serb Hall. Is there anything more genuine Milwaukee than that south side fish extravaganza? If you've never been, you have to go... just so you've done that.

Perhaps my favorite Serb Hall moment was when long time manager Bob Milkovich let me work the drive through on Good Friday for a live report. Awesome.

Every year the folks at Serb Hall send us these mind-boggling statistics on just how big this event is.

FISH: 4000 LBS

FRIES: 2,500 LBS

COLE SLAW: 900 LBS

TARTER SAUCE: 40 GALLONS

KETCHUP: 40 GALLONS

BUTTER: 80 LBS

BREAD: 275 LOAVES

They average 440 orders per hour, and seat 950.

IF YOU WANT TO GO: This Good Friday they're open from 11:30AM to 9PM. Reservations taken for the main dining room at (414)545-6030. Or the "All You Can Eat" Fish Fry Buffet is open from 4-8PM in the Presidents Hall.
