HOLIDAY PARADE INFO
IT'S SATURDAY AT 9:30
For the first time, I'll be in the Milwaukee Holiday Parade; please come anyway.
As previously stated in this space, I don't really feel like I belong in parades. Marching bands: yes. Giant balloons: yes. Santa: for sure. Vince Vitrano of Today's TMJ4: not that exciting.
It worked out, however, this year since Mike Jacobs couldn't do it, and my daughter Ella really likes riding in the parades. She's gone with me in the Tosa 4th of July parade the last 2 years, and talks about it for the rest of the year. In fact, she stated she recently uncovered her "parade flag" from the Summer.
I informed young Ella that we call that flag "The American Flag," and it's the flag of our country. That's why we wave it on Independence Day, which is the parade on the 4th of July. This is a different parade for Christmas, I informed her.
"Well, then I need a Christmas flag," she responded.
Hope you can make it, and please consider bringing some food to donate. Collection bins for "Food for Families" will be set up along the route. A link to the site for more information is included. http://www.milwaukeeparade.com/
