A WISCONSIN NIGHTMARE
OUR OWN TONY ROMO?
Dude, are you from here?
I've generally cheered for Tony Romo. Burlington's own, who rose from obscurity to become one of the hottest players in the National Football League. Unfortunately the guy plays for our hated rival the Cowboys, but that wasn't his fault... so I wished him well unless he was playing the Packers.
It came out at some point last year that he never was much of a Packer fan. Now we see Romo struggling through "Take Me Out to the Ballgame," at Wrigley Field. http://ballhype.com/video/tony_romo_seventh_inning_stretch/
Maybe he did it because they asked, and that's cool I guess. I'm just a little worried the dude may be a Cubs fan. At the end of the song he yelled to the crowd, "Let's get some runs."
"Let's?" I know you're a guest in their house, but you're not saying "let's" unless that's your team. No Brewer fan would ever dare.
I mean anyone else who played for the Cowboys and cheered for the Cubs... well... we'd wish bad things upon, wouldn't we? What are we supposed to do with this kid?
I'm calling on Romo to voluntarily surrender his Wisconsin citizenship papers. If he does not volunteer, they will be revoked. I propose we no longer call Romo our own.
Frankly, that's a load off my mind. I really had trouble ever cheering for a Cowboy.
