WIFE DID NOT SEE RICK SPRINGFIELD AT STATE FAIR
IT WAS ANOTHER 80'S ROCKER
I incorrectly recalled on the air the other day that my wife as a youth had seen Rick Springfield in concert at the Wisconsin State Fair.
We did the story the other day that Rick Springfield was in town for a few days. While here, he got himself into a softball game at Helfaer Field (the small diamond in the parking lot at Miller Park).
Coming out of the story I said that I thought my wife had seen dude in concert when she was a kid, and he was a hot 80's rocker.
As Roger Clemens would say, I guess I misremembered.
My wife had indeed seen an 80's rocker at the Wisconsin State Fair when she was in middle school. It was, however, Richard Marx, not Springfield. Marx was apparently opening for Kenny Loggins... who was right the midst of Danger Zone and other hits made popular by the film Top Gun.
But there was my wife, and her friend Monica... I'm sure with really teased out big hair, screaming their hearts out for Richard Marx.
"Right here waiting." "Don't mean nothing." "Satisfied. "
Okay. I stand corrected. I'm not sure my wife is any more proud of this, in fact, perhaps less so. But the truth is the truth.
