YOU'VE GOT A $50,000 DIAMOND AT THE MALL?
WHO'S BUYING THAT?
Somebody ripped a 4 carat diamond from a jeweler at Southridge.
What the heck is a 4 carat diamond doing at a mall jewelry store?
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporting today the $53,000 dollar diamond was stolen from Fred Meyer Jeweler on about 6:00 on a random Wednesday. I should point out the diamond in the picture is a lot bigger and completely unrelated to this story. I just needed a picture of the big old diamond.
What I'm wondering is... who buys a $50K diamond from the guy at the mall. I'm not ripping that store, or any jeweler at our area shopping centers. I've purchased many fine items at the mall jeweler.
I'm just saying, what's your usual clientele? It's the dude who forgot his girlfriend's birthday and is running through on his way home from work. It's the husband who forgot wife's anniversary and knows whatever he brings home better be good. Is that the guy who's about to drop 50 large on a 4 carat rock?
MALL JEWELER: May I help you sir?
GENTLEMAN: Yes, I'm looking for a ring for my wife.
MALL JEWELER: Wonderful sir. How much were you looking to spend?
GENTLEMAN: Oh, I don't know. I got paid this week. Um... I guess I'm looking for something in the 40 to 60 thousand dollar range.
