COFFEE JOKES IN COFFEE CLOSET
NOT ACTUALLY FUNNY
MILWAUKEE Employees at a local television station expressed reserved puzzlement at the comics on display by the coffee makers. "I just don't get 'em, really. They're not funny," stated an anonymous source.
Workers at Today's TMJ4 are invited to a central location for coffee, tea, and other beverages provided by the company. The coffee closet, as it's often referred to, is also adorned with comic strips. The selected comics appear to have two things in common. They're all coffee related humor, and none of them are actually funny.
"There's that one Family Circus with the kid on the phone," said production specialist Kristin Anderson. "I mean... he doesn't even have any coffee. He's on the phone or something," Anderson continued. "What's that got to do with coffee?"
Others questioned the need for the themed humor. "Just because it's the coffee closet doesn't mean it has to be coffee jokes," stated Today's TMJ4 Executive Producer Rob Lowry. "I mean, they could have some jokes about tea too," suggested Lowry. "Or how about just jokes that are funny... they don't have to be beverage related at all."
Also posted on the coffee bulletin board is a largely ignored sign imploring employees to make a new pot when they take the last drop.
