Vince Vitrano: Not For Broadcast

FRIENDS RALLY TO KIM'S DEFENSE

EXPOSE REAL DIRTIEST DESK AT TMJ4

MILWAUKEE  In the wake of a damaging and revealing article concerning the state of Susan Kim's desk, coworkers came to the defense of the Live at Daybreak news anchor. They also pointed out what is generally held as the dirtiest desk in the Today's TMJ4 newsroom, that belonging to one James Cullen.

Calling the Festering Cesspool blog, "unfair and inaccurate," Kim coworker Holly Jankowski berated this reporter for his investigation and expose. She added, "I think Susan Kim should have her privacy so she can concentrate on the news and not have to worry about what's being written about her."

Jankowski also suggested that the real story about dirty desks in the newsroom was to be found at Cullen's desk, not Kim's.

Managing Editor James "Jim" Cullen is widely respected as one of the sharp minds in the newsroom. "His brain is a supercomputer," Live at Daybreak anchor Vince Vitrano stated about Cullen. "It's sometimes not as fast, but he's got a lot of space on that hard drive. His recall is incredible."

Cullen is noted for being able to recall virtually any phone number he's previously dialed. Seriously.

All that said, the same colleagues who speak so highly of him, also acknowledge he has the messiest desk in the newsroom. "Sometimes I wonder how he finds his chair," stated reporter Melissa McCrady, who sits next to Cullen in the newsroom.

Cullen's desk space is a repository for papers, media releases, and other junk. No one, least of all Cullen, seems to understand why so many papers are saved, and stacked. A paper pulled randomly from the middle of the pile seen at right was a rundown of news events for November 29 of last year. That was the middle of the pile! Ironically, a bottle of household cleaner contributes to the clutter.

"That's an old picture of Cullen," Vitrano noted in an interview. "That's from like 10 years ago. You know, he's cleaned up his haircut and general appearance a great deal since then. Perhaps his desk will be next," Vitrano concluded.
