Like I said, it's all about the money.
So Don Imus is going to be on the radio again. Raise your hands if you're surprised.
The guy was whacked months ago from his radio/TV gig, which included a simulcast on MSNBC. I said at the time the decision to fire him had nothing to do with what he said. It had nothing to do with the moral fiber of the people who fired him. It had nothing to do with his willingness to apologize, or lack thereof.
The only thing this was about, and remains about is money.
Imus' previous employers decided at the time he was too hot. Too many advertisers pledged to get out. Advertisers out... money out. That's when the tide turned.
It works the other way too. Apparently WABC in New York has advertisers ready to go, because they're putting Imus back on the radio. While I always found the guy's show unlistenable on a personal level, there are people who like to listen. There are also apparently people who will pay to reach those listeners.
With that combination... anybody will get a second chance... or a third... fourth... fifth...
