GUY WHO GOT FAVRE BALL IS COOL
GOOD STORIES FROM CANTON
That didn't take long.
Here it is. I just got these photos from the folks at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. The ball that broke the record is already on display at the HOF.
In the photo to the left, a museum curator is adding the ball to a Favre display featuring the Packer QB's jersey from November 7, 1999. That's when Brett broke the consecutive start streak with his 117th at the position of quarterback.
It was a real pleasure this morning to speak with Joe Horrigan, Vice President of Exhibits at the HOF. He was the guy you see in the photo to the right. After completing the historic touchdown in Minneapolis on Sunday, Brett handed the ball to Horrigan, and he took it directly to the Hall of fame.
Here's the plan for the ball, accord Horrigan. It's currently "on loan" to the Hall of Fame from Brett. It sounds like it's kind of up to Brett what happens with it ultimately. Horrigan says they try to get players to give them the piece of memorabilia initially. They let the dust settle, and then they work out what happens down the road.
Put it all next his permanent exhibit. Obviously the guy's in on the first ballot.
