STATE FAIR IN 2-HOURS
HIGHLIGHTS FROM QUICK TRIP
Despite spending only a couple hours at the State Fair Thursday evening, we still got the important stuff in.
As noted here, my wife is about to have twins any day. We weren't sure we'd make State Fair this year. I knew we couldn't designate the hours needed to fully experience the Fair, so I figured we just wouldn't go. Wrong. We went in half the time we usually spend, hit some highlights, and went home fat and happy.
In chronological order: Pork chop sandwich for me (every time). Directly to Discovery Barn so Ella could look at baby animals. I've got no interest, but as any parent can testify, watching your kids watch something that makes them happy... that's a magic indescribable.
Next... spiral cut fried chips and polka music at the German tent that also sells potato pancakes. Wife's favorite (chips not the polka).
Trip down the giant slide with Ella. I wasn't sure about that. Thought she'd be scared. Before we even came to a stop at the bottom I get, "I go down slide again." Not for 4 more bucks. Once a year kid. If you all read my previous entry you know it's more than I got!
Okay... corn from Millie's across from the expo center, hot dog for the kid.
Into the cream puff place... one for here, one to go. Strawberry milk to wash it down.
Last but not least... cheese curds w/ranch dipping sauce purchased at the "Hot Wisconsin Cheese" booth just on the north end of the cream puff building.
Things I'd do with more time... super bungee ride, expo hall with slicer deicers, Wisconsin Products Pavilion, Wine tasting, and a funnel cake. I think we did pretty well for a 2-hour tour.
See you next year.
