REAL LIFE "WRATH OF KAHN" MOMENT
I'LL NEVER SLEEP AGAIN
I couldn't look away, but it was perhaps the most frightening scene in a movie that my parents actually let me watch.
Anybody who's seen Star Trek II The Wrath of Kahn shudders at the possibility. There's a scene relatively early on where these two dudes get these earwig looking things that crawl in their ears. Then they make them crazy. Then later, they start to crawl back out. That's when one of the dudes wastes himself with his phaser, because he can't stand the pain. Horrifying. Kahn!
The memories of those troubling scenes came flooding back Monday. We did a story about some kid who went to the doctor complaining of discomfort and strange popping noises in one of his ears. After a good ear flush, the doctor pulled out two spiders, one of which was still alive! SPIDERS! AHHHH!
The kid actually seemed not too bad off, and even took the specimens to school for show and tell. I however, will never sleep again.
Can you imagine being that doctor. "Okay Johnny, let's have a look in that ear. Hold still and we'll just.... AHHH! SPIDERS! SPIDERS! SPIDERS IN THE EAR! SO HELP ME GOD! SPIDERS!
That's maybe the worst story ever.
