VIEWERS, DOCS THINK SHEETS MADE RIGHT CALL
COMPARISON TO TEDDY BEAR STILL FUNNY
As it turns out, readers of this blog and doctors agree Ben Sheets made the right call by checking out of the game Wednesday with a groin tweak.
Let me be clear; I like Ben Sheets, and I want him to succeed. In my frustration of watching him leave the game with yet another pesky injury I compared him to a lovable teddy bear. (See previous blog)
So I have heard from some of you... here's a take from Flynn:
"Hilarious! That was great! However, I gotta disagree on pitching on ANY injury especially if your name is Weeks, Prior or Wood. These guys throw too hard. Legs are used for that extra umph. You pitch with a pain and that pain turns into a season-ender."
And here's a take from the Brewers after Sheets saw got his MRI yesterday, as quoted by Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
"The good news is that Ben felt a lot better today. The doctor attributes a lot of that to getting him out of the game as early as we did. He said that was the best thing we could have done."
Okay, fine. You guys are right. You are. Ben and the team did the right thing. I'm not going to argue with doctors and team officials. We all obviously want the same thing, which is for the Brewers to win games. Period. Having Ben Sheets healthy helps the Brewers win games. Period.
Still... funny teddy bear thing right?
