COOL LIBRARY... ERRR LABORATORY
MY VISIT TO NB WEST
New Berlin West High School sure has a cool new Library. It's so cool, they call it a Laboratory.
I was invited to take part in a celebration of the new facility. The school hosted a read-a-thon to enjoy the opening of this spectacular library which they call the learning laboratory.
All sorts of people were on the list of readers, in fact right after me, First Lady Jessica Doyle did the honors. The book of choice, for whatever reason, was Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.
I was assigned only chapter 16 to read, but now may actually go out and get that book. It's really macabre, and sinister, and melancholy, and I'm out of cool adjectives. Anyway, who knew? The only thing I knew from Frankenstein is the movie with Gene Wilder. "It's frahn-ken-shteeeen!"
Anyhow... good times in New Berlin. I've posted a picture of me with the Lab Staff. What's funny, on the far left and almost completely cut off, you can almost see Drew Mullen. He's the guy who actually got me involved. Poor Drew. He used to teach at my Alma matter Tosa East. He left to teach out there... yadda, yadda, yadda, I was there for the reading thing.
Thanks again, New Berlin West.
