DEPARTURE. ON WISCONSIN!
WE'RE ON OUR WAY
AIRBORNE On Wisconsin! This great Rose Bowl Odyssey has begun. As I’ve previously documented, I have a woeful road record when it comes to covering our favorite teams. Taking no chances, I hung my Badger flag before leaving the house this morning. Hey Bucky!
We encountered lots of Badger fans at the airport this morning. I’m disappointed to report, they were extraordinarily subdued. Maybe it’s because I’m used to being up for hours already at 6AM, but if that’s all we got Badger fans, we’re in trouble!
I’m confident Badger Nation will rise up, and we’ll run into some crazies as the week progresses.
The primary thing on my mind now is logistics. First of all, we gotta get there. We’re flying Frontier (it’s a rabbit on the tail) connecting through Denver to LAX. My photographer, Ira, and I sketched out a rough plan on the plane. It’s a timeline reminding us what stories we know we’re doing, where we have holes, and ideas for filling them.
I’ve also got times in for my radio hits as well. I’ll be doing morning live shots with Newsradio 620 WTMJ at 7:22 on Thursday and Friday, and I’ll have some morning show reports on Saturday morning too.
Our T.V. schedule is pretty packed. We will be live on T.V. at 6AM, (Yes, 4AM Pacific), 6:30AM, 4PM, 5PM, 6PM and 10PM. That’s the schedule for Thursday and Friday. Game day, Lance Allan and I report live from the Rose Bowl Stadium from 8AM-10AM. Of course, we’ll be there hopefully reporting on a Badger victory at 10PM Saturday night.
Lance hops on the red eye right after that. He’s hoping to be in Green Bay by morning to cover the season finale for the Packers.
See you on T.V. On Wisconsin!
