HEY REX... DO YOU LIKE APPLES?
0 POINTS. HOW DO YOU LIKE THEM APPLES?
I hope you didn't forget. I know Chuck Woodson and that Packer defense didn't.
January of this year, Jets Coach Rex Ryan reacting to the news that Charles Woodson, and not his cornerback Derrelle Revis, had been voted NFL Defensive Player of the Year by the Associated Press:
"I would like to congratulate the people that voted for Derrelle Revis. These guys obviously really know the game.
"And you've got to look at all the numbers, not just a number about this or this stat or that stat.
"A number I think is interesting would be eight, and no, that's not the number of touchdown passes Green Bay gave up against Arizona. That's the number of touchdown passes we gave up all season."
Wow, guy. I appreciate a coach standing up for his man. I expect, and respect that.
There was no need, however, for him to crack a consummate pro like Charles Woodson. Chuck earned that award. You disagree, fine, but it was completely uncool to try to drag the Packers and Woodson down in the process.
Well, Rex. I got a new, "interesting" number for you. It's ZERO! That's the number of points, Rex, that Chuck and the Packer defense allowed against your team Sunday. ZERO!
Enjoy the goose egg, Rex, scrambled, with a side of karma.
