So... what's up with Sammy Sosa?
The baseball legend recently showed up at the Latin Grammy Awards looking very... um... Michael Jackson-esque.

Sosa is a native of the Dominican Republic who played for the Chicago Cubs. The picture on the left is during his baseball days. But check out that picture on the right. It hardly even looks like the same man!
Sosa told London's Daily Telegraph that his lighter skin in the picture was the result of bright television lights.
And, oh yeah, that bleaching cream he's been using at night before he goes to bed.
Oh brother...
Sosa also admits he's wearing colored contact lenses.
But I think the thing he really needs to admit to... is self hate.
Ever heard of the term "color struck"?
That's what's used to describe people who prefer black people with lighter skin. People who think that melanin is perfect at mocha.
It's an old-fashioned world view. Because the most beautiful skin is the one you're in.
Sammy Sosa may have been a hero on the baseball field, but it's clear he never learned to embrace his heritage.
Sosa is a grown man who can do whatever he wants.
But as parents, I think we need to teach our children that celebrities come with their own set of issues too.
