It looks like Jon and Kate Gosselin's 15 minutes of fame aren't quite over yet.

Despite internet reports that TLC was dropping their reality show, TVGuide.com is reporting that production on the newly christened "Kate Plus Eight" will begin as soon as Jon and Kate can work out their differences.

Call me crazy --- but I'm kind of enjoying this national soap opera.

Yes, Jon and Kate are both wound so tight it's a wonder their heads don't explode.

Yes, having young children live out their lives in front of cameras can make us feel, at times, like we're invading their privacy.

And yes, watching this show can be uncomfortable --- kind of like re-living your parents' divorce.

But darn it... I have to admit it... I want to see how this sorry saga unfolds.

I want to see Kate Gosselin try to be a single mom to eight kids.

And I would really like for her to be able to keep cashing those TLC checks....

...unless someone else can come up with a way for her and Jon to send those kids to college.

And as a mom, I really enjoy watching those kids' misadventues in different locales every week.

My seven-year-old daughter has even started watching the show with me.  She understands that Jon and Kate are no longer a couple.  But the nuances of their split go totally over her head.  She just gets a kick out of those cute Gosselin kids.

So forgive me if I can't join the chorus of people begging the Gosselins to get lost.

I really do hope they stick around for a while.
