I've heard from a few of you so far about my last blog on civility, but this one from Bill was kind of interesting.  Check it out:

Shelly:

Kanye West is a publicity seeker, and that's why he did what he did. That's why a lot of celebrities do what they do. They can't always have a hit record, or a hit movie, or hit whatever. So to keep their name in the media they do outlandish things.

Since you're Canadian I guessing you probably don't know a lot about baseball. Their was player named Joe DiMaggio, he played for the Yankees and dated Marilyn Monroe, and even though he was probably one of the 10 best baseball players of all time, and dated argulably the most famous actress in the world, he shunned the spotlight.

He let his work speak for itself and he didn't have to do interviews, or appear on award shows in order to get a bigger contract, or more endorsements. A lot of these so called celebrities could learn from DiMaggio.

One more thing! Does Kanye West's apology mean anything really? He took a moment away from Taylor Swift, a moment she'll never get back. I really don't think his apology means anything. I really don't beleive the word sorry means anything anymore, because people toss it around so much.

Kanye West got what he wanted, the world talking about him.

Bill

Thanks for writing Bill.  One quick thing though --- I have heard a little about that sport you Americans call baseball.  They squeezed in a few matches on the CBC during hockey's off season.

Thanks for the insight!
