Lance Allan: Sports Glance with Lance
Justin Harrell, This Year Would Be Nice
And Other Notes Before Camp Starts
With Johnny Jolly out for the year, Justin Harrell...you've just been put on notice. Now would be a good time to show why you were drafted in the first round, and prove the Pack does have depth on the defensive line.
The worst problem for the Pack might not be getting picked number one by two Sports Illustrated writers...or that Aaron Rodgers has pressure on his shoulders as the top fantasy quarterback. No, it might be Rodgers keeping everyone happy...because there's only one football....and last I checked, Greg Jennings, Donald Driver, Jermichael Finley, James Jones and Jordy Nelson all want the ball.
Atari Bigby finally signed his tender. Missing mini-camps, did nothing. He's officially on notice. Once Morgan Burnett gets up to speed, expect a new starter alongside Nick Collins.
And 305 pound Cullen Jenkins working at outside linebacker in the last camp? That's how desperate the Pack is to develop a second pass rusher along with Clay Matthews. Because I don't care how good Charles Woodson (and he's awesome) and the rest of the secondary are, good receivers can get open given enough time. And veteran QB's like Kurt Warner and Ben Roethlisberger showed how to carve up the D.
