I've never seen more hype, more bluster, and more fanfare for someone who hasn't won a title, and hasn't gotten Cleveland any closer to the championship they covet than what Mark Price and Craig Ehlo did 20 years ago.
So LeBron James will announce his decision in an hour special on Thursday night. Wake me when this national nightmare is over.
And guess who's there to promote this infomercial? You guessed it, good ol' ESPN...better known as the Extra Special Promotional Network, since they don't seem to do real news anymore. I loved how some of their experts today tried to talk down about those that criticized the decision to carry this, like they're higher and mightier than us...and how they tried to explain that if they didn't do it, someone else would.
I have a novel idea. Why don't your company execs grow a spine, make a stand, and say no, we're not hyping this for an hour for one person's benefit.
I'm not a part of James' kingdom. I promote anarchy, and promoting someone like Kevin Durant, who quietly re-signs with the Oklahoma City Thunder, a full year before he becomes a free agent...and actually lifts his team to new heights previously not obtained.
