Milwaukee Brewers radio broadcaster Bob Uecker is scheduled to undergo heart surgery this Friday (April 30) in Milwaukee. He will not make the upcoming road trip and is expected to miss 10-12 weeks following the surgery.
Further details regarding the surgery will be announced at a press conference today at 3:30 pm CT in the media interview room at Miller Park, located directly across from the home clubhouse. Uecker and Dr. Jim Klezca (Froedert Hospital) will be present at the press conference.
Uecker, who earned the 2003 Ford C. Frick Award and an induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame, recently entered his 40th season behind the microphone for the Brewers.
