Lance Allan: Sports Glance with Lance

You Might Be From Wisconsin If...

I Think All of These Are True

  • Print

When talking with Olympian Jinelle Zaugg-Siergiej in the Olympic Village, she talked about how she met state natives Catherine Raney-Norman and Alyson Dudek for the first time.  And how, because of Wisconsin...there was an instant bond.

So in honor of that, I figure those of us that have lived most of our lives in the Badger state... there are a few things you know that are true.

If you consider it a sport to gather your food by drilling through 38 inches of ice and sitting there all day hoping that the food will swim by, you probably live in Wisconsin.

If you're proud that your city makes the national news 96 nights each year because it's the coldest spot in the nation, you probably live in Wisconsin.

If your local Dairy Queen is closed from November through March, you probably live in Wisconsin.

If you have worn shorts and a winter coat at the same time, you might be from Wisconsin.

If you have a child or a pet named "Brett," you are probably from Wisconsin.

If your town has an equal number of bars and churches, and your bars have names like the "House Of Truth," you're probably from Wisconsin.

If you know how to spell Oconomowoc, Waukesha, Waunakee, Stoughton, Menomonie and Manitowoc, you have to be from Wisconsin.
