There's almost nothing left to talk about. Nearly every angle of the Super Bowl has been dissected. But I don't think every angle has been digested.
What do I mean by that? Former Packers defensive lineman Daniel Muir is by far, the biggest eater on the Colts. Eats double entrees. Double desserts. And double potatoes. Now that's solid info.
Donald Driver is pulling for former teammates Darren Sharper and Tory Humphrey to win a ring.
Meanwhile maybe Jim Caldwell didn't go for a perfect season, because of his experience growing up in Beloit. In 1973, he was an all-state running back on an undefeated football team...and won the state basketball championship. So in the halls of Beloit Memorial High, he learned a title is more important than being perfect.
As for the game, when the Saints have the ball: Drew Brees is a very good QB, and early in games he gets into a good rhythm. But I wasn't that impressed with Drew Brees in the biggest game of his career. Fourth quarter, he really didn't do anything to win the game for the Saints against the Vikes. In overtime, a little better...but he didn't play well in his other NFC Championship appearance against the Bears.
When the Colts have the ball: Peyton Manning may start slow, even throw an early pick. But he doesn't skim defenses, he reads them from cover to cover. I can't see the Saints hitting him as many times as they did with Brett Favre and Kurt Warner. Darren Sharper is playing well, but not well enough to win this battle by himself.
Prediction: Colts 34, Saints 26.
