Will this week's game be a dress rehearsal for the postseason? We might know before kickoff...as if the Vikings beat the Giants in the early game, the Cards can't get a bye...Arizona would likely rest starters quicker, and we'd more than likely have a rematch. By the way, Mike McCarthy confirmed what we've been hearing as an NBC affiliate...that the Packers would likely play on Saturday, so there's a good chance the game will be on our air Saturday at 7 (most likely) or 3:30 (still in play.)
So this week, your guess is as good as mine. I said the Pack would go 10-6 this year...so my preseason prediction is riding on this one...
When the Packers have the ball: Don't get anyone hurt. Make sure your passing game stays in rhythm. And in addition to continuing the success Ryan Grant has had of late, keep Brandon Jackson and Ahman Green going.
When the Cardinals have the ball: I'm sure Jarrett Bush covering Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin or even #3 wideout Steve Breaston gives any Packers fans cold sweats. If they can merely contain them, that would be a victory. Add in the two headed monster of Beanie Wells and Tim Hightower at RB, and about the only place Arizona isn't potent is at tight end.
Prediction: A lot depends on how much the starters play. Since I said 10-6 in the preseason, and because the Packers are likely going back to the desert and don't want to show the Cards much...I'll say 30-27 Arizona. And just like the 1993 playoffs, the Packers will return on the road (like they did to Detroit) and punk out the home team in the playoffs.
