One month ago, when I wrote a blog about how they were already gripping in Vikingland, with a columnist for the Minneapolis Star-Tribune writing about how the Packers could get the ultimate revenge by punking out the Vikes at the Metrodome.
Man, you would have thought I was the Antichrist. You homer. You moron. You &*&^!! Well, that's all I can print from fans of the purple team.
Well, as one wise Viking fan told me...here we go again, a late season collapse almost expected by those that have seen this act before. After averaging 29 or more points every month, the Vikes just putting up 18 per game in December. Favre has more INT's (4) than TD's (3). And Adrian Peterson hasn't had a 100 yard rushing game since week 10.
And now better drama than any soap, with Brad Childress trying to pull Favre while only up 1 in the third quarter of the Carolina game. Then the Vikings coach allegedly dressed down his QB for telling the media what happened.
On this issue, I'm with Favre. With home field advantage still possible, why would you pull him in the third quarter, down 1? As a competitor, he should refuse to come out. The Vikes are winning despite Brad Childress. Childress should kiss Favre's feet for getting him a contract extension, and Packers fans should be overjoyed that they shouldn't fear getting outcoached by a Minnesota squad any time soon.
It's great drama to watch from afar, isn't it? Click on the video link for Favre's comments. Emails at lallan@todaystmj4.com
