If you didn't witness a great random TV moment on Wednesday at 6:25pm, here it is.
First, I was sad to hear the news that our 6pm producer Lacey Krans McCraney was leaving a few weeks ago. She's from Illinois, so we always had good natured rips about the Bears, Cubs and Illinois.
Well, about that same time...I lined up a satellite interview with Mike Ditka. Yes, that Iron Mike...one of the biggest icons in Illinois sports history.
The interview could only last 5 minutes, tops. So 4 minutes and 15 seconds in...totally unprompted...I ask Iron Mike the question.
"So, our 6pm producer Lacey, it's her last day. And since she's a diehard Bears, Cubs and Illinois fan...Mike, do you have any words of guidance for her?"
