Until the playoffs began, Milwaukee Marquette scored at least 27 points in every game, and won by at least 3 scores...20 points or more.
So after a season full of blowouts and impressive play, Marquette had to change their play. Oak Creek scared the Hilltoppers, leading by 14 at the half...before Marquette pulled out a 7 point win. Then came another 7 point nailbiter over Kenosha Bradford, both games were shoot outs.
And then in the title game, Marquette had to adapt again...scoring just one touchdown against Greater Metro foe Menomonee Falls...yet the defense rises to the challenge, by shutting out the Indians.
Milwaukee Marquette, you've earned it and deserve it. Classy and modest coach Dick Basham, the winningest coach in state history...now has his 9th state title. And now, the Frenzy Team of the Year. Click on the video link for more.
