I like to call Journal Sentinel writer Bob McGinn the "Professor," because he's probably forgotten more about football than I'll ever know.
Today, a special treat. Bob and I go one-on-one on the Packers-Vikings game. Can Brett Favre play within himself? Can Aaron Rodgers stay upright and not be counting the Lambeau lights?
Find out the answers to these questions, plus Bob's reasons for writing The Ultimate Super Bowl book....his new creation on the 43 big games in NFL history.
Emails at lallan@todaystmj4.com and included below is Bob's first book signing and how you can get your hands on one of the best reads of the Holiday season!
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel sportswriter, Bob McGinn, will be signing copies of his new book, The Ultimate Super Bowl Book, at Boswells Books, 2559 N. Downer Avenue in Milwaukee on Wednesday, November 11 at 7:00 pm.
Bob McGinn has covered 23 Super Bowls as a sportswriter for two Wisconsin newspapers, the Green Bay Press-Gazette and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. A five-time Wisconsin state sportswriter of the year, he has won numerous writing awards from the APSE and the Pro Football Writers of America. In 1998 McGinn was selected as one of America's top 20 sportswriters by Men's Journal, and in 2005 he was a finalist for the McCann Award, given each year to one writer for reporting on pro football.
His new book, The Ultimate Super Bowl Book is the definitive reference for the ultimate sports event, the Super Bowl. Year-by-year game summaries, play-by-play accounts, post-game analyses, and quotes from players and coaches put you on the sidelines at America’s ultimate sports event. Along with profiles of every Super Bowl played since 1967, this informative and entertaining volume includes features on the greatest individual performances in Super Bowl history, interviews with legendary coaches and players, insights into the biggest Super Bowl shockers, and a look at the Super Bowl's place in American culture. Fans will love poring over the in-depth stats, little-known strategies, game plans and adjustments, and integral match-ups that were pivotal points for creating championships and dynasties for one team, and heartbreak for another as well as debating McGinn’s many top 10 lists that are spread throughout the book, including the best and worst plays, coaching and player performances, blunders, and more.
