Lance Allan: Sports Glance with Lance

Happy 40th Birthday Brett

His Point Proven On Monday Night

  • Print

Brett Favre will be 40 on Saturday...and looked every part the 26-year-old that won 3 straight MVP's in the mid-90's

Efficient, channeling his emotions of anger into a precise surgeon...he took apart the Packers secondary at will.

Now comes the interesting stuff.

After the game, I thought it was good of Aaron Rodgers to seek out Brett after the game.  He came off the better man in all this.

Rodgers has been sacked 20 times in 4 games.  That's one more than Favre was sacked the entire '04 and '07 seasons...and 6 more than the entire year of 2003.  He won't make it through if that continues.

Most of the sacks are from the line...but Rodgers did hold onto the ball too long on 3 of the sacks.

I said the offensive line would ruin the Packers chances of victory and they'd lose by 3.  Well, I nailed the Badgers 3 point victory...I'm only 4 off and getting the end result right!

Embarrassing, humiliating.  Those are words used by guys on both sides of the ball.

Donald Lee had a Jackie Smith moment...remember, the Cowboys tight end that dropped a pass in the end zone in the Super Bowl?  That 7 point drop loomed large in a 7 point loss.

Charles Woodson openly wondered why the Packers got rid of Anthony Smith.  As I said on a previous post, Smith may have free lanced too much...but he was also a playmaker.  And you kept Rouse over him, and both are no longer around.
