First of all, I don't picture Mike McCarthy listening to local sports talk radio. But he does care what's being said and reported...because every morning around 7am, he meets with Packers Director of Public Relations Jeff Blumb...as Blumb goes through what's being reported around the state and nation about the team on TV, radio, print and internet.
Still, I don't think McCarthy would call in like what Brad Childress did. Apparently tired of what he thought were inaccuracies in ESPN's reporting, he called KFAN in the Twin Cities to insist that he did not give Brett Favre a deadline to report. Click on the video link to hear what he said.
Let's face facts. Until all of the Vikings offseason activities are over, Brett Favre is not reporting to Vikes camp. I've told my friends this will likely stretch into July, and I still think I'm right.
Two, I'm told Brett hasn't thrown a lot since surgery. His arm feels better, but it's still sore so he's still waiting to make sure he's good to go.
And three, Brad Childress is starting to have credibility issues. Not knowing if Favre has had surgery, when the Vikings wanted it? No deadline? He's on the verge of losing some guys in the locker room with all this double talk.
