I've been asked about Jim Calhoun's rant against a freelance writer, when said writer asked him if it's fair that he's the highest paid public employee in Connecticut, and what proper protocol is during a press conference.
Well, clearly the UConn Head Coach lost his cool and should haven't told the reporter to shut up and calling him stupid. And when people are hurting, it is a valid question to see if coaches are worth what they get paid.
But here's the deal. One, in a presser after a game, you never start with a question like that...and it's probably a question you should ask out in the hall or off to the side.
And two, when the writer threw his peers under the bus by saying "if these guys did their job I wouldn't have to do this," I lost all respect for the dude. You don't sell out others just to promote your cause.
So to relive the Calhoun tirade of the year, here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xokthY5zuPU
And just don't ask me what I make....you might think I'm overpaid as well!
