BONG! BONG! BONG!
It's time to ring the bell for Trevor Hoffman...as the Brewers agree to terms with the future Hall of Famer. And I'll admit, this blog is nothing more for Brewers fans to do than click on the video link to hear the best entrance in all of baseball.
When I talked with a reporter I know in San Diego, he said you're getting a great guy, in addition to a pretty good pitcher. And while he might not be able to blow the fastball past everyone anymore, Brewers TV analyst Bill Schroeder told me he still has the best changeup in all of baseball.
And consider this....when Eric Gagne was signed last year, he cost $2.5 million more...and was coming as a setup guy on the downside of his career. Hoffman's still a legitimate closer.
That plus the fact that there's no other closer worth signing at this point...is good enough for me.
So crank up the speakers...and tell me what you think of this signing at lallan@todaystmj4.com
