I'm trying to pick my Christmas spirit back up after the recent report of a New York Wal-Mart worker getting trampled to death by early shoppers during Friday's door busters. Where are we at in society, where someone is more concerned about getting a $50 DVD player than someone's life? Especially when the current economy is horrible. Where was someone to pick the guy up? If that's the holiday spirit, I'm out.
So here are some more rants:
Oklahoma over Texas in the BCS? Another reason to take the C out of BCS. Texas beat the Sooners by 10 earlier this year. What matters more than head-to-head competition? Could someone please tell me what I'm missing here, just because the Longhorns had close wins over Baylor and Nebraska? Since when did style points count?
With the resignation of former Packers assistant Sylvester Croom at Mississippi State, now Miami's Randy Shannon will be the only black head coach at a BCS school, and just one of 3 black head coaches left in major college football. That's not a shame, that's a crime.
LeBron's take on CC Sabathia signing with the Yankees? "It would be good for him, and good for the team." I mean, as much as Brewers fans must dislike this statement...imagine being from Cleveland. An Akron native, tells a former Indians pitcher, to sign with the Yanks. This same Akron native was on the Cowboys sideline when they played the Browns. And the lovefest LeBron and Knicks fans showed each other last week made me sick.
Madonna and Alex Rodriguez were together...well, in the same city anyway. The Yankees superstar was helping at a new sports
center, while Madonna was in town for her "Sticky & Sweet" tour. The sticky thing...these two broke up each other's marriages, so it's sweet that these two overpaid, overhyped performers get together.
