I was born in 1970...so consider this.
The year before, Al Collins helped start a weekly Saturday flag football game on the south side of Milwaukee. Nearly 40 years, 800 games, and 1500 TD's later, he's still playing!
Al is the last original...but Phil Scardina of Oak Creek is close, start one year later in 1970. Gary D'Amato, the amazing and most versatile writer on the Journal Sentinel staff, started in 1976 and now includes 3 generations with Phil and Gary's son Dean playing every Saturday.
It's amazing, because this game has spanned 5 decades if you include the 60's...and now 5 players are card carrying AARP members! As a number of the guys told me, the older you get...the more aches and pains you feel until Thursday or Friday rolls around, and then you want to suit up on Saturday again!
