Despite all of the bad blood, the rumblings, and the rumors that I've followed since day one....this is just like the old Pace salsa ad. New York City? Yes, Brett Favre will still be in green. Just a different shade. But going from the smallest NFL market to the biggest will seem weird. I love how teams in New York try to trump each other. Yankees-Mets. Rangers-Islanders. The Giants win the Super Bowl? Hey, the Jets just go out and get the most popular player in the NFL. Way back in 1991, Ron Wolf missed out on his first attempt to get the gunslinger from Mississippi. As the Jets personnel director, he was impressed with the Southern Miss star, and wanted him with the 34th overall pick. Just one problem. The Falcons picked him 33rd. The Jets scrambled and picked QB Browning Nagle. Now 17 years later, the Jets finally get their man. And it just won't be the same in Titletown. Emails at lallan@todaystmj4.com
