When was the last time the Brewers swept consecutive road series? Now that's something we'll have to check with the Elias Sports Bureau...but I can tell you that the Crew has now tied a club record for most wins without a loss on a road trip, tying the 6 in 1980 and 2003.
And if you're wondering....the most consecutive road wins in club history is 9 all the way back in 1973.
But consider why this season is deja vu of the 1982 Brew:
The 57-43 record after 100 games, the best since the 58-42 of 1982.
Homers in 19 straight games, tying a franchise record.
C.C. Sabathia is like Mike Caldwell...he finishes what he starts. His third complete game for his new team, allowing 3 runs in his first start, then 2, then 1, and now none. How will he improve next time...a perfect game?
The Brewers haven't had a winning road record since 1999...but they're 27-26 away from Miller Park, one win from a 7-0 road trip out of the All-Star break.
And they're 38-19, the best record in the majors since that meltdown in Boston back on May 20th.
