FAVRE AT LAMBEAU: NEVER THOUGHT YOU'D SEE IT?
AND OTHER NOTES FROM THE HOF CEREMONY

Yes, Elvis was in the building. Or better yet, Gilbert Brown said if Elvis and Brett Favre were at Lambeau, Favre would still get the looks and the spotlight from adoring fans.
And while Favre stuck to the script, and never talked about his future on Packers Hall of Fame night, it still came with awkward moments. My two favorites....while Brett Favre and Frank Winters shared a table near the stage, seated two tables behind? None other than Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy. Ted and Mike were seated one direction, Favre the other...and it never seemed like they ever looked at each other in the limited amount of time we were allowed in the building.
The other? When Brett Favre received the 2007 MillerCoors MVP award, he said "I'm thankful for this award for a lot of reasons, especially being an old, gray-haired quarterback, showing I can still do it." Seems like a litte slap at Teddy to me!
Other highlights:
Favre receiving standing ovations before and after his award presentation.
LeRoy Butler telling me that he would love for Brett and Ted to get into a room at Lambeau Field during the night, he would be the mediator, and he'd tell me first what happened. Now that's hot!
Gilbert Brown moved to tears, saying a silly, fat kid from Detroit didn't deserve this. Gravedigger, you are a fan favorite. You deserve every minute of it.
Gilbert saying he couldn't imagine wearing another logo on his helmet...a subtle dig at Favre, after telling me earlier in the week that he would be a man of his world and stay retired if he retired.
The only reference to problems in Packers paradise....when emcee Larry McCarren said "there are bigger problems in the world than the one the Packer Nation is wrestling with now."
Favre apologized for not thanking his teammates at the upcoming ESPYs award broadcast.
